Recently I went to an Angels vs. Dodgers game! I went with my brother and my dad. It was at Angel stadium in Anaheim, which means it should have taken about an hour to drive from my home. However, it took us two hours to get to the stadium because of the terrible traffic! When we got there, I noticed two giant baseball caps hanging in front of Angel Stadium. They also had giant baseball bats holding Angel Stadium up. When the game ended, I said "it was worth the LONG drive!" because the Dodgers won!

- Have you ever been to Angel stadium?
- What is your favorite sport?
- What's your favorite baseball team?
Dear Sammy,
ReplyDeleteNo I haven't been to Angel Stadium but I am a big fan of the Dodgers. Did you know that before the Dodgers moved to Los Angeles they were from Brooklyn, New York and called the Brooklyn Dodgers. Since I lived in New York and they were our home team I always loved them.
My favorite sport is golf and I've been playing it for about 15 years. I'm looking forward to watching the Olympics, particularly the gymnastics.
Love you,
Joan (Sammy's Grammy)
Dear Sammy,
ReplyDeleteIt was so great to meet you, your brother and your mum at Royce's house! Did you enjoy catching up with some of your friends? I enjoyed your post about the baseball game. When I was in the USA in 2007 I had tickets for a Yankees game in NYC. Unfortunately, they changed the time of the game and we didn't realise. So we missed it! Fortunately, we could get tickets from another baseball match featuring the New York Mets. I would have loved to see the Dodgers play when I was in LA but I just ran out of time. I don't have a favourite baseball team as baseball is not popular at all in Australia. The most popular sports are Australian rules football and cricket. My favourite sport is running. Do you have any other favourite sports?
Dear Sammy,
ReplyDeleteI have to say I have never been to a baseball game. While it is played in Australia by teams, it doesn't have the huge following the game has in U.S.A.. From what I have seen on television, I think being in such a huge crowd would be an experience even before the game began.
As your Grammy points out, the Dodgers were once the Brooklyn Dodgers. This is how I first came to know the Dodgers name. i.e. through movies. As I hadn't heard of the Angels, if I had been at the game, I would probably have supported the Dodgers. :)
